During active storms, tree service search volume spikes as much as 500% in Maryland. Here is what happens when you call us.
What to do right now before we arrive
Stay away from downed power lines
If the tree pulled down a power line, treat it as live. Keep everyone including pets at least 30 feet away and call BGE or Pepco directly.
Do not go inside if the tree hit your house
Structural damage is not always visible. Wait for us or a structural inspector before re-entering an affected room.
Take photos before anything moves
If this is a homeowners insurance claim, photos of the tree in its original position help your adjuster process it faster.
Do not attempt to move it yourself
A tree under tension from a fall can shift unpredictably. This is exactly the situation licensed equipment and training exist for.

Why call us instead of the first name on search results
Licensed to do this legally
MD LTE #002327. Emergency situations attract unlicensed operators charging storm-inflated prices. We are licensed by the state and verifiable with the DNR.
We know what insurers ask for
Documentation included, not an upsell. Photos, written assessment, and invoicing formatted the way Maryland adjusters expect it.
We actually answer at night
No answering service reading a script. Storms do not happen during business hours, and neither does our phone go to voicemail.
Equipment for hard situations
Crane-assisted removal available. Trees on structures or over power lines need more than a chainsaw and a ladder.
27 years handling exactly this
Storm season is not new to us. Maryland hurricane and derecho season from August to November is when we are busiest and most prepared.
Called us during the worst moment. Here is what happened.
“I had an emergency with a tree that had fallen on the power lines over our garage. They were able to have their estimator come out immediately. The crew safely got the tree off the lines.”
“Excellent crew and incredibly fast response time during the storm. They safely removed a massive oak tree near our property line and cleaned up the yard completely.”
“A massive branch came down on our roof in the middle of the night. USA Tree Services answered the phone and had a crew out to stabilize it before more damage was done.”
What Maryland homeowners ask during an emergency
If a neighbor’s tree falls on my house, who pays?
Under Maryland law, a healthy tree falling in a storm is generally treated as an Act of God, and your own homeowner insurance covers the cleanup regardless of whose property the tree was on. If the tree was known to be dead or hazardous beforehand, liability can shift to the tree owner.
Will my insurance pay for emergency tree removal?
Usually yes, if the tree has already damaged a structure, vehicle, or blocked essential access. Preventative removal of a healthy tree typically is not covered.
How fast can you actually get here?
Response time varies with storm demand, but we prioritize trees on structures, blocking exits, or near power lines. Call and we will give you a realistic window.
What if the tree is touching a power line?
Do not approach it. Call your utility provider to de-energize the line first. We coordinate with them when needed, but downed lines are not something we or you should touch before they confirm it is safe.
Do you charge more for emergency calls?
Emergency response involves after-hours and priority scheduling, which is reflected in pricing, but we quote before starting so there is no surprise invoice.
Can you help document the damage for my insurance claim?
Yes. We provide photos and a written assessment formatted for what Maryland adjusters typically request.
Do not wait on a hazard.
Licensed, insured, and answering the phone right now.
